From the moment I had my first conversation with Jodie I knew she was a truly lovely person–and then I met John, and he was just as fabulous. They are the kind of people that make this world a better place, and I felt so fortunate to be involved in their wonderful day!

I spent some time with John and his groomsmen in the morning, before heading on to Jodie and the girls at the hairdresser. Everyone was so relaxed and calm before the ceremony…full of smiles and laughter. Jodie + John were married in the gardens at the Woodstock Winery in McLaren Vale, the weather was absolutely perfect! Their whole day was full of eager anticipation and blissful celebration as family and friends witnessed the joining of these two wonderful people.

Jodie + John, no doubt you have heard it over and over, but what a beautiful wedding! I am so excited to share these with everyone.

Jodie + John, I adore you guys. I look forward to keeping in touch with you both for many years to come!

Wedding day moments — Kate + Tom

One of the things I love most about my job is meeting beautiful people– finding out their love story, spending time getting to know them and capturing one of the most important days in their lives.

Kate + Tom are one of those couples that I always think so fondly of… they are just gorgeous, have two beautiful children and are just a really lovely couple.  I was so thrilled to be asked to photograph their wedding earlier this year, at a quaint little church in Stirling, followed by an intimate reception at The Bridgewater Mill. They had both planned their day so beautifully, the details were scrumptious, Tom looked so handsome and Kate looked divine.

With each wedding I photograph I always take a part of it home with me in my heart… It may be a funny little thing that happened on the day… it may be a hilarious story I heard about the bride and groom during the speeches… it may have been the ‘lovey dovey’ glances between the happy couple…  So with that in mind I will always remember what I took away from Kate + Tom’s wedding–and that is the importance of family. Their wedding was special– surrounded only by those closest to them, it had an air of closeness and intimacy. Their love for one another and their two gorgeous children was so evident through each and every part of the day and I feel truly honoured to have captured their special day for them.

Please enjoy some of my favourites….

Kate + Tom, your day was sublime.

Wedding day moments — Kimberley and Jonathan

Wedding rings: Bell and Brunt

Cake: The Delicious Biscuit

When I first met Kimberley + Jonathan, I loved them immediately. Perhaps it was the way that Jono kicked his shoes off and sat guzzling Ferrero Rocher’s; the playful banter between them both, or their gorgeous smiles…. either way, I knew that I couldn’t wait to photograph their wedding!  They were blissfully married on a very hot day in February (43 degrees!), and it was absolutely fantastic! I truly enjoyed capturing their love for each other (Jono couldn’t take his eyes off his beautiful bride!)  and their passion for life.  I am excited to share some of my very favourite’s from their day!

Kimberley was a sweetheart and had organised a nice gift for Jonathan to open on the morning of the wedding.

Time for the boys to get ready!

Meet Kimberley – hasn’t she got a beautiful smile!

Such a beautiful bride!

These two lovebirds were so happy to be getting married that it didn’t matter that it was 43 degrees outside, and what felt like about 38 degrees inside!

Kim + Jono, you guys are awesome. It was so much fun spending the day with you both and I wish you all the very best for your beautiful future together!

The South Australian Professional Photography Awards

It has been a big week for South Australian professional photographers this week, with the annual South Australian Professional Photography Awards being held over three days.  The standard of work across the board that was entered was AMAZING, and  I’m thrilled to have received four silver awards, two in the Portrait category and two in the Wedding category. Last night I was awarded runner up for SA Professional Wedding Photographer of the Year! I am very excited to have my work recognised this way.  I send out big congratulations to all the category winners, and am very proud to be part of, and friends with, such an amazing group of people within the SA AIPP.
